THE ART OF BURNING CANDLES

• Never leave burning candles unattended or out of sight

• Always place the candle on a safe, heat resistant surface while the candle is in use

• Keep out of reach of children and pets

• If black smoke or soot is observed, extinguish the flame immediately.  This is caused by letting the wick get too long, or the candle is located in a dafty area.
• Burning times may vary depending on the fragrance, colour and climatic conditions.

• Extinguish the candle flame before covering with a lid, never close the lid on a burning or warm candle
  

• Do not use the candle if the glass container is scratched or cracked

• Do not allow the candle flame to touch the surface of the glass

• Always place the container on a safe, heat resistant surface while the candle is in use

• Never touch the glass surface of the jar while it is burning, it can be extremely hot

• Always keep the wick trimmed to 1/8" or less

• Rotate the candle regularly to help even burning

• The container can get extremely hot, handle with care!
• If the candle wax is entirely melted in the bottom of the container, extinguish the flame; the candle is done, it is normal for some wax to be left in the container
• Burn the candle at least two to three hours for uniform consumption
• After a maximum of three hours extinguish the flame, let cool, trim the wick to 1/8" or less and relight if so desired
• Do not let wick trimmings, matches or any other foreign object collect inside the candle jar; this material can be highly flammable and may creae a hazard.

• Always burn a votive in an appropriate votive holder, never free standing.

• Our votives use self-centering wick tabs for safety, never let the flame touch the surface of the votive holder.

• Always burn a pillar on an appropriate pillar holder on a heat resistant surface

• When the wax pool reaches 1/4" from the candle's edge, extinguis the flame, let cool, trim the wick to 1/8" and relight if desired
  

• Do not burn in enclosed spaces.  Use only in a accessory designed for tealight use with adequate ventilation.

• If soot or smoke is visible from the flame, extinguish, let cool and trim before relighting

• Always place tealight holders on heat resistant surfaces

• Use only in a well ventilated potpourri pot
  

• Use with an unscented tealight candle as the heat source

• Never use in electric potpourri pots, they may overheat the wax

• Use firestarters only in a fireplace, woodstove or outside campfire.  Not intended for fragrance as a candle.
